Ill never leave youwas initially a song i wrote about being at a chaotic place of bad choices. Being in your mid 20 ́s, trying to navigate your life, at the very same time as everyone around you is doing the same. Theres a lot of mistakes and stumbling, and it’s the same for everyone. But I also wanted to point of the importance of friendship, and how we find solitude in those close to us. I guess that perspective turned the chorus into this proclaim-that no matter how dark and difficult things are, I would never abandon my friends in darkplaces.

I remember making the song on my laptop in GarageBand with a lot of voice harmonies and a synth, with a soft ballad typ of sound. Then I brought it to the studio, and Henrik (myproducer) He was instantly like-okay, I got a good idea for this song, and started putting bunch of drums and sounds on it-and I remember thinking-okay lets just destroy the song. Then I left the studio, and Henrik sent med a demo of the song-where he had sorted out this uplifting and gripping sound with drums, guitars and a synth-and I was walking down acrowded street-and I just got a very good feeling of listening to it-yeah, this is it!

Mia tells: «It’s a story I wanted to tell through a lot of lyrical images. Where in the beginning you can picture someone standing in a garden screaming to each other, or in the second verse «’we’re swimming, in an ocean only you’ve seen»  It’s just these glimpses of chaos and desperation. I think it’s something everyone can relate to – having a phase of struggling or doubt, and the  importance of having friends to lean on through those moments in life»
