Her debut album, “The Revelations of Love” (2021), took us on a journey through love and loss, clearly showing that the process of mending a broken heart is neither linear nor tidy. On her second album, “Movies, Cars & Heartbreak,” we see a more concentrated and playful expression of songwriting and production that we haven’t seen from the artist before. With tracks like “Never Say Sorry,” “Rear View,” and “Already Gone,” we are brought along into the darkness, but not without a sprinkle of hope. We are introduced to beautiful, soaring synths, powerful and bass-heavy drums, with Moyka’s vocals standing firmly in the center of it all.
