Moyka’s second album, “Movies, Cars & Heartbreak,” is set to be released on Friday, October 20th. The concept album is a cinematic journey from start to finish, exploring themes of self-development through love and heartbreak. Throughout the year singles like “Rear View,” “Already Gone,” “Don’t Turn Around,” and “Perfect Movie Scene” have provided a glimpse of what’s to come. The album is a focused collection of catchy pop songs and artistic synth sequences that make you feel like life is a movie. This results in the best songs Moyka has created in her career so far.

The album opens with the lead single, “Perfect Movie Scene.” The song is a dreamy exploration of the idea of idealized romantic love, and Moyka’s vocals are both beautiful and melancholic. The production is exquisite, with swirling synths and danceable beats.

The rest of the album is just as impressive. “Rear View” is a melancholic breakup song, while “Already Gone” is a more optimistic track about moving on from heartbreak. Moyka’s vocals are always a highlight, and her songwriting is both clever and relatable. “Rear View” is a standout track from Moyka’s catalog, and it is sure to please fans of synthpop, electronica, and pop music alike. Moyka is currently on the radar within a new generation of alternative pop in Norway. Since her EPs “Circles” (2019) and “Spaces” (2020), we have followed Moyka on her journey as an artist, songwriter, and producer, without her ever compromising her true self. She has built
up a catalog with a clear identity and garnered attention from international heavyweights like Billboard, Notion, and The Line of Best Fit.

Her debut album, “The Revelations of Love” (2021), took us on a journey through love and loss, clearly showing that the process of mending a broken heart is neither linear nor tidy. On her second album, “Movies, Cars & Heartbreak,” we see a more concentrated and playful expression of songwriting and production that we haven’t seen from the artist before. With tracks like “Never Say Sorry,” “Rear View,” and “Already Gone,” we are brought along into the darkness, but not without a sprinkle of hope. We are introduced to beautiful, soaring synths, powerful and bass-heavy drums, with Moyka’s vocals standing firmly in the center of it all. The album takes us through the chaos of experiencing heartbreak, overwhelmingly lonely moments, confusion, and onward to transform ourselves into a fearless and brave protagonist.

Moyka explains, “This album is for hopeless romantics, the heartbroken, partygoers, thrill-seekers – and for all who love to dance and cry at the same time.”

With the album release, Moyka will embark on a tour in Norway and select European cities:

● November 1 – Sebright Arms, London
